A medical device manufacturer was developing a new generation of battery-powered portable patient monitors for use in hospital wards, emergency departments, ambulances, and patient transport.
The monitor was designed as a multi-parameter portable patient monitor, capable of continuously measuring ECG, SpO₂, NIBP, respiration, and body temperature. To support clinical mobility, the device integrated a rechargeable lithium battery, allowing uninterrupted monitoring when patients were transferred between departments or during emergency transport.
